Hopefully I have contributed to the growth of women’s cricket in India and around the world.
Jhulan Goswami, a great player who was banned from all forms of the game after an incredible two-decade international career, hoped on Sunday that she had succeeded in motivating the next generation of players from India and all around the world to play the "beautiful game."
Age-wise, she is 39. When India Women defeated England with 16 runs during the final and third ODI played at the Lord's to complete their first sweep of clean on English playing field, Goswami was given the happily ever after she had dreamed for in her long and brilliant career. I hope that my honesty throughout my cricket career has helped to raise the standard of women's sports in India and other countries. In a year-end message posted to her social media sites, Goswami expressed her hope that she had been successful in encouraging future generations of girls to take up the sport.
To my Cricket family and beyond, etc. It's arrived! As with many journeys, mine has come to an end today as I formally quit from all forms of the game. I played cricket for more than 20 years. the greatest fast bowlers to ever compete in the sport, Goswami started her career in 2002 and finished it as the highest female wicket-taker in women's cricket. She took 44 wickets during the course of 12 Test matches, 255 wickets in 204 ODIs, and 56 wickets in 68 T20 Internationals.
"As Ernest Hemingway once remarked, it's fine to have a destination in mind, but in the end, it's the trip that matters," This vacation was the most satisfying one for me. It has been thrilling and adventurous, not to mention last but not least, thrilling. Goswami composed.
"I have had the honour of donning the India jersey for more than 20 years, and I have done everything in my power to serve my nation.
"I have enjoyed every second of the past 20 years of my career as an international cricket professional with my teammates on both fields. I've always admired your cricket, and even if I make it as a professional player, I won't be far from you. She competed in five ICC Women's World Cups, including the ones in 2005 and 2017, when India advanced to the finals. Additionally, Goswami participated in five ICC Women's T20 World Cups.
"It was my ambition to play for India ever since I saw the Women's World Cup final at Eden Gardens back in 1997, and I am grateful to the BCCI, CAB, WCAI, and Air India officials for reposing faith in me and allowing me the opportunity to do so,"
